Tonight I was trying to commission a new airFiber link for a client. They currently have a 5GHz backhaul, so we powered up the airFiber at the remote site, then came to the local site... I plugged the airFiber in, powered it up off the Netonix switch but shut the switch port down so as not to create a loop.
And then we waited.. and waited.. and waited... after 5 minutes, I said... "huh"?
Further investigation shows that when a port is not enabled it also does not supply power????
EXPECTED OUTCOME: When a port is disabled power is still applies but it does not pass traffic.

Re: Disabling Port Disables PoE?
AH HA! I thought this was "fixed" somewhere along the lines in the firmware updates.
Yeah *embarrassed emoji* this was on the one switch that's still running the really old firmware.... *gulp*
Perfect... I'll update as soon as the new firmware is out in the next day or two :)
