switch-switch = no "pass thru"

Wed Sep 09, 2020 7:26 pm

Hi,

We have a strange situation... Wanted to change one of the WS-12-250-AC switches since we've noticed speed drops on two ports (1gig->100megs, then back, and then drops again) and we already have one bad port. So, installed a brand new one - we were not able to reach any of the devices connected to the new switch!!! We had to put back the old one - it's working (still with two ports speed drops/changes).

Thought the new switch was bad - tech guy went the next day with another new switch and the same thing happened!?!

So, wanted to test the new switch - connected to one of the spare (free) ports on the old switch and we were able to reach it... then, unplugged one of the devices (AP with still no customers on it) from the old and connected to the new switch - not reachable!

Help? :-)

Thanks,
Dejan J.

From the new switch I can reach the AP attached (pings, ssh, ...) but not from the old switch nor the rest of the network... Yet, the new switch is reachable (from the rest of the network)...
