Netonix + IgniteNet

Tue Jul 14, 2015 10:58 pm

Hey everyone,

I just got my hands on the WS-12-250-AC and put it through the paces to certify it to run our product portfolio. The short story is the switch worked seamlessly with all our products, I'll detail power settings below by model. Personally I have really enjoyed playing with the switch. It's been a breeze to plug into my network and easily monitor all my devices. I'll follow up this article with pictures shortly.

Indoor Devices:

SunSpot AC1200 - Port Power should be set to 48V (0.75A). Our device is spec'd at 802.af, but no issues powering with 48v passive.

SunSpot N300 - Same as AC1200

Spark AC750 - Port power should be set to 24V (0.75A). Current version is passive POE powered so its a perfect fit. We have a new version coming soon that will be af/at, will confirm that there will be no issues once we have beta units.

Spark N300 - Same as AC750

Outdoor Devices:

Skyfire AC1200 - Port power should be set to 24VH (1.5A). This unit was what we were most curious to see if the Netonix switch could power. Having two high power radios built in (2.4 GHz 30dBm / 5 GHz 28dBm) it can pull just a bit of power. The switch didn't blink, no problem supplying all the power needed.

Skyfire AC866 - Same as AC1200

MetroLinq 60 GHz - Port power should be set to 24VH (1.5A) to meet our POE injector spec. However it will operate on any port at 24V. Yup we tested it and confirmed no issue powering. Next we need to hook up multiple links and see what the SFP port and CPU can handle traffic wise ;-)

Thanks and more coming soon,

Chad Dewey

Hi Chad,

I would like to test a MetroLinq on one of our Netonix Switches to verify this :D . Greets to HAL.
I am very eager to see this stuff working. It would match perfectly with Netonix Switches to build a great
urban Gigabit infrastructure.

We are flushing out a few last minute software issues at the moment. We are hopeful the first units will ship within July.

Nice but can you replace the UI graphics with larger ones that we can read?

Maybe provide a chart showing each model of Radio you have and the watts it consumes according to the switch keeping in mind that power consumption goes up during transmit so maybe explain 30 second graph low and high and 5 and 60 minute average watts consumed.

Maybe tell us what each of your radios are and what they are best suited for as well.
