I will be getting one to install at my WISP maybe end of next week and will run it for a few days at one of my towers first.
So after that if all goes well if I had one or two PRE-Release WS-12-250-DC switches who would want to buy one?
Idea candidates:
24V or 48V site (prefer not 12V at this time)
Powering at least 1 AF5 or AF24
Powering several airMAX radios and or other devices
Does not have to be your main tower but something that get some traffic
A box that is not an oven so vented and fan would be nice as thermal testing is not yet completed
Would prefer US based candidates for obvious reasons but we may consider international.
BONUS - Powering an AF5X on 24VH
BONUS - A way for us to log into the switch at will
Conditions to accept:
Candidate must agree to have a backup plan/solution and easy access to site in case things goes wrong.
They would need to be deployed ASAP
They are NEW design they could fail but you need to understand this and not flame us if it does
If you do want one and you are accepted you will be put in the Associates group.
Please do not be upset if you are not accepted as there are limited units.

Re: DC Switch ETA
I'm game.
I have a site with 5 airmax radios and will so have a Exalt G2 licensed radio (48v).
site runs about 80Mb max currently. once the G2 is in it will probably run more than that.
Also one of the airmax radios will be moved to either mimosa or af5x (backup link for the g2)

Re: DC Switch ETA
I have almost the perfect site for this...
24V solar powered site
Powers AF-5X and Mimosa B5c
Powers NanoBeam, NanoBeam AC and RocketM
8600' elevation so never too hot
US/Colorado based
Could easily setup a direct access to the switch
Problem - the site is at least an hour drive to reach...
I definitely want to get these though as if they work as designed it's going to simplify our site to no end - what with all the up converters and passive poe usage.

Re: DC Switch ETA
I've got a good site. It's in an outdoor box with fans, on the north side of a building so not too hot. Currently running a WS-12-250-AC, but the UPS we're using on this is limited to 100W (Alpha Micro 100) and we're starting to peak over that. We have a 48V DC Alpha UPS (up to 300W) installed and ready to go if we can get a DC-powered switch. We had previously used a "hacked" UBNT toughswitch with DC power there.
Running one AF24, 5 UBNT Rocket AP's, a Mikrotik RB750GL and a couple un-powered ports.
In Southwestern Utah.

We also have another site that is 48v solar powered, running off a "hacked" Toughswitch. Running an AF24, 5 Rocket AP's and one Rocket AC PTMP AP.

Look what FedEX delivered to me a little bit ago.
This is hopefully the production mock up. It is fully functional as it is running on my bench now doing some testing.

Re: DC Switch ETA
I'm a bit late here, but I'd be interested. I have three sites that we'd love to move to DC switches.
We have one small site with 3 radios and then we have two larger sites suited for 12 ports.

Re: DC Switch ETA
Any update on when we can preorder? I'd love to get a few of these in my lab.

Re: DC Switch ETA
Soon I hope. In the last testing mentioned above Dave found some ripple he did not like so he had to consult with the engineer from the company that makes the controller ship and they requested a couple changes so we are waiting on the new test boards, they should be at Dave's Lab early next week.
If testing goes well they will be released for a RUSHED limited production.

DC "test" batch
When will the "test" batch be available for order, and ship? also what does that mean? We are like beta testers and you will fix it if you find any flaws we discover?
