OK, It gets stranger. We swapped out the switch with another from a test site that was working perfectly but hasn't gone live yet. The replacement switch was preconfigured at the other site and then installed at the site where we were seeing the issues. It powered the two AF24s fine, but the reported voltage issue remained. Board 24V was reporting 6.6Vdc and Board 3V was reporting 0.3Vdc. Other then that, it was working fine. Old and new switch were both running 1.3.2.
We took the old switch to our lab and hooked it to a 24V power system. Worked perfectly and reported voltages correctly...
It gets stranger. Yesterday we installed another SFP in the new switch and connected it to an M7i. Switch then started reporting correct voltage and is running fine... Not sure how that could possible change anything but my guys assure me that is the only thing they did.
We have two ISOLATED DC power supplies at the site located in a central rack. From the rack, there is 250' of SOOW 12/4 running up to an outdoor rack on the roof. The -48 PS is using two conductors on the 12/4 and the +48 is connected to the other two. The +48 feed is connected directly to the switch. The -48V feed is connected to s a -48V fused distribution panel in the same rack as the Netonix switch. There are also four LMR-400 cables running from the central rack to this outdoor rack. The central rack ends connect to IDUs (-48V) and the outdoor rack ends connect to bukhead N connectors in a panel and then go on to ODUs. Each IDU is powered by its own isolated -48V PS.
I am thinking that there must be an issue with one or both of the power supplies and there is voltage bleeding between the -48 and +48 systems.
Later today, our new 24V battery system should be here and we will swap the switch over to that and remove the -48V distribution panel and hook that PS directly to the radio it is powering.
We are holding off on the RMA as we don't think there is anything wrong with the switches. I will keep you updated.

My understanding is that the SFPs use the I2C bus and so too do the voltage sensors. I'm sure Dave will set me straight on that if I am wrong.petecarlson wrote:It gets stranger. Interesting. Got:
"Jan 8 05:21:28 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting..." in the logs and it went back to wacky voltage readings.
Couldn't remove the SFP from port 13 because it has live traffic on it, but we removed and reinstalled the SFP in 14:
"Jan 8 05:53:06 SFP: FAULT on SFP 1, resetting..."
And presto, it's back to normal voltage readings again.
