Re: New WS-8-150-XX Models
I got both of my WS-8-150-AC yesterday, put one the bench and tested. Runs great, burn in test passed (we always run new equipment for 1 hour on the bench). it's goes into service tomorrow.
Also backed up the config of a 6-mini and restored the configuration to the WS-8-150-AC. Went off without a hitch.
both were running 1.4.1 firmware.

Re: New WS-8-150-XX Models
Ok I found a small issue with the new WS-8-150-AC.
It is not reporting per port POE values. I can see the full switch poe wattage but when clicking on a single port it doesn't change.
I am using firmware 1.4.1 and it does work correctly on my WS-12-250-AC with the same firmware.
Let me know if you need images or other help.

The WS-8-150-AC does not report port watt usage just total watts used.
Come on man we tried real hard to get close to the ToughSWITCH price which we came within $10.95 MSRP
ToughSWITCH Pro 8 MSRP $189.00
WISP Switch WS-8-150-AC MSRP $199.95
What do you get for that $10.95 more:
Active Fan cooling to prolong your switch life in hot environments. This alone added almost $10 to the MSRP when you factor in the fan, and the circuits to control it.
It is a 150w power supply same as TS8 but ours if you look at it is much larger and medical equipment grade.
This added several dollars to the MSRP for the higher grade power supply.
You get an Enterprise/Carrier switch core Vitesse VSC-742X versus with the WS-8-150-XX verses the Broadcom SOHO switch core BCM-53118 found in the ToughSwitch Pro 8
Our switch core cost almost twice as much.
The ability to power 1 airFIBER
This added several dollars to the MSRP with the extra circuits.
Smaller chassis for small places
TONS more software features such as:
Full SNMP v1 & v2
SMTP alerts
LAGs
QinQ VLANs
Scheduled port bounce
Scheduled port power down and up
Full console CLI with Linux shell as well
Pause Frame Storm Protection to combat the bug in the airMAX AC and airFIEBR firmware until they fix it
Port speed limiting
THE LIST GOES ON HERE.

Re: New WS-8-150-XX Models
Hi Guys,
Don't get me wrong, I am in no way disappointed in the switch. It's great and I wasn't sure if the per port reporting was a limit of the software/hardware. I see now I missed it on the website. "Overall current used is reported" - My bad.
The switches are awesome and you guys provided the type of support we need in the WISP industry.
Keep up the good work.

Re: New WS-8-150-XX Models
Apparently the WS-8-150-DC does have per port watts reporting but it was not activated in the firmware - OOPS
We will get that fixed in v1.4.2
But the WS-8-150-AC does not report per port watts, just total watts.

Re: New WS-8-150-XX Models
I was really hoping to get more feedback from some of the early recipients of the WS-8-150-AC and WS-8-150-DC switches?
I really thought we did a pretty good job in keeping the units "small", actually the WS-8-150-AC is smaller than a ToughSWITCH PRO. They offer a much better switch core with tons more features than the ToughSWITCH PRO and are only priced at $10.95 more MSRP than the TS80 and you get all these extras.
Active Fan cooling to prolong the life of the switch and power supply.
A medical equipment grade power supply.
Total watts consumed reporting
Ability to power 1 airFIBER 24/5
Wall mountable so no need to buy an RF Armor $30 bracket.
Full SNMP
And all of our other software bells and whistles.
As far as the WS-8-150-DC once again it is pretty small and offers a less expensive option of its bigger brother the WS-12-250-DC for those smaller DC sites.
Accepts 9-72V DC variable input
Port watts and Total watts used reporting
Has RF filtering to help it out with FM tower sites
(2) SFP Ports and (6) 1G POE ports
Ability to power 1 airFIBER 24/5
We kept the watts reporting on a per port basis with the DC model
Anyway hoping to hear back from more people what think of them.
I know we have not shipped a ton yet due to production hold ups but there is nearly 100+ of each out there in the world and we are shipping out several hundred this week and we get in 10K more switches over the next 8+/- weeks.
