Hi All:

We are trying to find a way to (or best practices) get our Wispswitch to send an E-mail when either the STP role changes from Root to Alternate and back or the State changes from Forwarding to Discarding on a port or ports.

Basically when the STP is activated when a main link goes to the backup link.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Not currently a feature.
Could be something we do in the future?

If you are monitoring with NMS (SNMP) you can program it to alert you.

Thank you for your comments. Not sure of the steps to do that. We don't monitor with a NMS that would accept the SNMP alert at this point.

Do you have a preferred NMS that we could configure?
