Has anyone tested to see if Trango licensed can be powered by the switch??

Please post what pins they use for power and watts required I can tell you.

-48 on all pins and 48-72 watts depending on sub band.

Which pins are positive and which pins are negative?

The current load will probably be OK if 48 watts is the average load with spikes to 72 watts.

I would guess that the positive ground return for the power is via the tower earthing (protection ground) and not on the ethernet cable.

I could be wrong but I doubt Trango is using Earth ground for the DC negative.

I would agree they are using all 4 pairs 2 pair for pos and 2 pair for neg, and I would "guess" they are using the standard pin outs as shown above but one would need to take an old jumper and cut one end off, strip the wires, and plug the other end into the supplied Trango brick an then use a VOM to map the pins, or...... look and see if they have them documented.

Maybe we are both wrong. I think Trango uses reverse polarity so the ground side is positive.

Anyway I quickly perused the following link http://support.trangosys.com/entries/20 ... stallation where they say "Since the PoE Requires ALL 8 conductors AND the shield which acts as the ground" but could have read too much into it. I don't know why it is so hard to find an actual pinout.

Did you guys ever figure out if trango works? I got a couple links without injectors and i don't want to power them by dc plug, much rather buy some switches.
