Have a Netonix WS-12-250-AC v1.5.0 that has the default VLAN and 4 other VLANs.
Having trouble reaching a device on one of the vlans unless I check the MC column on the ports page.
Seems the who-has broadcast message is not making it through the switch unless the MC option is checked.
Here is what I have.
Phone system ------vlan20---------Netonix-------vlan20-----PA sip device
I dont want multicast filtering on as some of the traffic going over that vlan is unsolicited multicast traffic for a school intercom.
what exactly does the MC option do and is this a bug?
VLAN broadcast not working unless MC is enabled

Re: VLAN broadcast not working unless MC is enabled
Multi cast should be ON.
We did not write this feature it is a standard and is part of the switch core itself, we simply turn it ON or OFF
With that said multicast is handled pretty much the same way on most all switches:

Support is handled on the Forums not in Emails and PMs.
