WS-24-400B log fault SFP: FAULT on SFP 2, resetting...

Mon Aug 05, 2019 7:05 am

We have an ES-24-400B that for some time now shows the following message in the log Aug 5 11:43:27 SFP: FAULT on SFP 2, resetting ... every two seconds
We have reset the switch, updated the firmware and disabled the port but the problem persists.

There is a solution

Best place to start is making sure you are on the latest firmware (1.5.3) and if that doesn't work (or if you are already on the latest) Try a different SFP module.

Here is a list of repoted compatible/incompatible SFP module's

If you tried other SFP modules from the list of known working modules then maybe a hardware issues.

Most likely can not be repaired and since the WS-24-400B was EOL 3 years ago we no longer have replacement boards.

Your welcome to RMA it and if we can not repair it you can always abandon it.
