I've been looking for a solution for this, even working around it in less than optimal ways. If you guys could build this inexpensively I think it would be a hit.
So, two input ports. both should ideally take PoE input. Maybe 802.11af/at or Passive. One 'output' port supplies PoE.
A switch chip capable of large MTU and QinQ in the middle.
what this enables is a very simple physical layout allowing for rendundant switches and routers. Then, your router of choice can do VRRP, CARP, or whatever flavor of redundancy you like.

This is basically using ER-POE units in place of the device I describe. To work around having only single ethernet ports on almost every radio commonly used by wISPs.
I think that the device should be extremely simple, 2 ports on one side, 1 on the other. No buttons or anything except a power led probably.
3 port inline PoE bridge.
