powered Ethernet over COAX

It's pretty common place to be upgrading or replacing older gear that is COAX fed, so this would be a vary handy device.

convert ethernet to powered coax with a 'feed' unit, and then convert coax to 12-24v PoE ethernet for radio side.

Here is an unpowered device:

something like that would be AWESOME to say the least. We replace a local provider's old time 900Mhz gear and it would be nice to just unscrew their cable and plug it into an adapter.

I'm not trying to be rude with this question. Is it really that hard to run a new Ethernet cable down the tower? Trying to understand how this helps in the long run?

Because their is a cost in time and materials to run a new cable, and then either drilling new holes or plugging up the oversized coax hole, leaving that in place would be an interesting option. The time savings would allow more installs per day.

My primary target for converting clients is from a provider with RG59/60 coax based gear, which means that a large portion on my installs are pre-wired.

here is a product from directtv

I'm going to order a pair up and see if I can pull enough power off the line to power a radio. Only a proof of concept, but the broadcomm CPU inside can be sourced so a purpose built product would be feasible.

oh sorry.. I missed the client part. Thought you were talking about towers :) That makes perfect sense then.

That's OK... I "implied" down the tower on your original post. LOL. We're even.
