Just wondering if there is a published list of compatible SFP modules that work with the Netonix line of switches, we have purchased a number of them now and have a need to start deploying fiber as the uplink to them.

Will the Cisco GLC line work or should we use the Cisco SFP line? That way we can use the same modules as we have at other sites.

Thanks

Well now that I moved your post from "Share Your Install Pictures" to the correct thread maybe read from the top

I've got some old Volex VAHS-28-0029 1.5m long passive SFP cables that I use with my Mikrotik gear.

These don't appear to work with the WISPSwitch.

Does anyone have a SFP to copper adapter that is known to work with the WS-12-250-DC? I have some Mikrotik S-RJ01 units but I can not get them to work. They show a link when set to 1G but they do not pass data. The other end is pluged into a Routerboard 750GL.

We are using a ton of generic Cisco compatible 1G copper SFP modules we purchased off Amazon and New egg and they all work fine.

We have a bunch that we use.

We have not had any issues with just about any Cisco compatible copper 1G SFP modules we have purchased.

These 2 work fine but have many other cheap OEM units in service with no problems.

These are one of the few we found that work but work odly. Sometimes you need to pull them out and reseat insert them or re-boot the switch if there was a power blip or you tried changing the Speed/Duplex but they would work with either Auto or 1G if you reseated them or rebooted the switch after changing the speed/Duplex.

Had a bad Netonix SFP Issue today. Plugged a SAF Lumina from an old Cisco Switch which needed to be replaced into a WS-12-250-AC with a Mikrotik SFP Module (http://routerboard.com/S-31DLC20D). This worked fine for a while. After repowering the SAF Lumina the connection did no longer work. Link was negotiated and up but I cant see RX-Packets from the Lumina. Tried repowering/interface up/down ... nothing helps.

Took a spare http://routerboard.com/RBFTC11. Powered it with 24V from a switch port, plugged the S-31DLC20D into it and all works fine.

So there are still problems with Mikrotik SFP Modules in Netonix Switches.

There is always going to be some SFP modules what will not work in the switch.

I have found this to be true with any network device that uses SFP modules as I have never found a device that will work with ALL SFP modules.

There is now a setting to help improve the SFP modules compatibility, did you try setting Speed/Duplex on the SFP module port?

But as I said we will NEVER work with ALL SFP modules but the good thing is there are hundreds of different modules out there to chose from simply find one that works.

I've got a WS-12-250-AC on the bench linked to my network through a Planet MGB-TLX and it seems to be working fine.
