Hi All
I see there is some new product announcements this month so may get what i'm asking for anyway.
Would really like to see a 24 port DC switch!
Currently have to jump from the WS-12-250-DC to a Cisco 3560X w/ inline injectors to meet my switching & PoE requirements. a Netonix 24 port with an SFP+ port would tick all the boxes for scaling a network with this equipment.
Cheers

We are working on a new line of switches that will offer SFP+ ports but the soonest you would see these is Vegas
However we could adapt the existing 24 port switch to be a SMART DC switch?

Why not just use two 12 port switches. than you have some redundancy during upgrades or potential failure

That would give him 24 ports but not the SFP+ he was asking for.

I do not think he needs SFP+ now he is just wanting them for the future?

Re: Product request - 24 Port DC switch
I second the motion for a 24 port WISP Switch. Something like a;
WS-24-250-DC or with the added ports and power load WS-24-400-DC
and yes 2 SFP would be nice but not required.

Re: Product request - 24 Port DC switch
So i have modified a WS-24-400A to now be DC :)
Simply removed the AC power supply and put some DC terminals on the front of the chassis, oh and while i was at it voided the warranty. Currently testing the hardware for wider deployment.
To answer the question as to why SFP+ ? We have Dark Fibre in a number of locations that currently relies on Cisco to support the 10gig links into our core network.
The cost benefit and the PoE function of these switches is powerful enough to make me gladly walk from any big vendor provided it does what its supposed to do (reliably).

Re: Product request - 24 Port DC switch
We are working on several new 24 port designs
One will be a smaller version of the existing WS-24-400A that will be called WS-24-400-AC. there will be a SMART DC version as well.
We are also working on a version with SFP+ ports but this requires a whole different switch core. Probably called the WS2-24-400-AC
These models are probably 6+ months away, definitely by Vegas.
