max watt on 24V

Thu Feb 11, 2016 3:12 am

Hello,

i have replaced a TS PoE Pro with a WS-12-250 DC.
I must power a MT CCR1009 over PoE with the Switch. Now the Port shows a litte overload for the power consum.

Is that in the tolerance or is it not advisable to do that over long time?

I can not power the router with 48V VH for use one of the first 4 Ports and 1,5 A.

THX

Maybe look at using their 48 to 24 converter. Ohm's Law says double the volts, half the amps.

If you had a TS powering that same router and it worked then I would guess the WS will be fine too?

The reason I say that is the older TS was rated at .5A or 12 watts per port and the latest versions .75A or 18 watts.

Both switches use Polyfuses which trip on heat.

All depends on how warm the environment is?

I just took a look at the specs on the CCR1009-8G-1S and it lists the supported input voltage as 14V - 57V so maybe you could power it with 48V.
