log entries

Thu Apr 14, 2016 11:20 am

I have a WS-12-250-AC at a tower site. In port 11 I have an AirGateway plugged in to give me wifi access at the tower. I am getting this message in the logs several times a day:
Apr 14 08:42:00 switch[1361]: Port 11: PoE is enabled and port has link, power should not be 0

The AirGateway is plugged in and working the entire time. Evidently it is not pulling very much power, but it is drawing more than 0. This is causing a lot of unnecessary alerts.

How many watts is it pulling?

Can you plug it in another port to insure the current sensors on that port are not damaged.

If it simply pulls very low watts it could trigger a false alert and is something we can look into trying to avoid in a newer firmware release.

OK, I just plugged in one of my AGWs and it draws too little power to measure.

I will see if we can add a checkbox to exclude ports from that error event
