v1.4.0rc19 - rc25 Bug Reports and Comments

Tue May 10, 2016 7:43 pm

Please post comments and reports bugs with v1.4.0rc19 - rc25 in this thread

We always suggest trying RC Versions on easy to access switches or better yet in lab environments first to insure they work for you.

We NEED to finalize v1.4.0 by the end of the week so PLEASE test and report back ASAP. Now is the time to find a bug to get it repaired and in the FINAL release.

But since the new models and Board Revs REQUIRE v1.4.0 we have to finalize it by end of week.

If you are running v1.4.0rcX or have a SMART DC switch model we HIGHLY recommend you upgrade to this version as soon as possible.

I installed it on a WS-6 and a WS-24 with no drama.

I did get an email alert when a UVC rebooted. These cams tend to wake up in TFTP mode (10 mbps, no DHCP) for a few seconds until the boot completes and then negotiates 100 meg.

We have upgraded our WS-12-250-AC to v1.4.0rc19 F/W.

I ve notice (the first day of stats collection)
Pros:
1) Less memory usage

Cons
1)There is some not before recorded traffic on Powered off ports that it is about 1packet every 5-10sec. (attached screens)
This maybe it is normal but since i ve noticed after this update i think that it must be noted.

It is our new Discovery routine looking for devices, it'll be fixed in the next release.

Thank you, since it is discovery packets and at that rate it isn't an urgent issue :)

Thanks to Yahel's post we took another look at our KLUDGE FIX which we are going to remove.

First off there was a BUG that if you cleared the port stats it could cause the KLUDGE FIX to falsely disable FC if there was already 10K or more legit pause frames.

I removed v1.4.0rc19 from download and will post up v1.4.0rc2X with the KLUDGE FIX REMOVED later today and some other minor fixes.

v1.4.0rc22 is being released

We had added a KLUDGE FIX in v1.4.0rc19 to detect the Pause Frame Storm and automatically disable FC on that port but there was a bug in it which could lead to false detections so we decided to remove it. If you have rc19 installed we suggest you install rc22.

Remember if you encounter the Pause Frame issue with airFIBER radios you need to disable Flow Control on the airFIBER or the switch port that connects to the airFIBER.

thanks for the ongoing improvements as ever, nothing major to report, I now have rc22 running on many various switches, ntp seems to take over an hour to update, whereas earlier versions time was correct as it came back up. Discovery used to show many devices Ubnt and Netonix on same vlan, now only seem to see netonix on lldp connected directly to its ports or via radio link.

these first four ports are AF24 and AF24D and uptime now six hours overnight but all still running flow conrol, 5 which is connected to a mimosa with old extremeware switch at far end fc on but not established and 6 is AC ubnt talking to toughswitch fc running.
as you can see a few errors on AF24 ports but only while upgrades done on Netonix at othe end, no further errors
