The only negative to that is they don't get to do a post mortem on the old board to see where there may be a need for additional hardening.

True, however maybe if they offered an incentive to send the damaged board back.

Nothing major, maybe some shameless promo products like t-shirt or hat. Might even think about providing free return shipping for the board. Then Netonix would get the best of both worlds, boards returned with no need to hurry on the RMA and some advertising.

I've just sent the pictures as a PM, Sirhc.

Sorry it's a few days late, but somethime everething is happening at the same time.
As you can see the switch has 8 days uptime, and it's working fine, exept the fan. Fan was working in the start, spinning up loudly, like they all do the first 30 (?) seconds.

I can clearly see the potential problems with allowing me or other people to open up the switches and doing all sorts of stupid things, but if you can find a good way to do potential rma's more "simple" it will give you a huge advantage.

Will open the box within a few days, check connection and report back. :-)

I had a look at the switch yesterday, moved the connection a little and fan started right up.
Switch is still humming away, 36 hours later. No errors in the log and all is well. :-)

I will go back to replace the fan at a later point, since i didn't change or modify the connection.

I would swap the switch out with a spare as soon as possible to prevent possible damage from heat.

I have the same issue with one of our switches. Additionally, I do have a fan here, however in order to replace the fan, we would need to open the unit and hence remove the "Void Warranty" sticker. All that said, can I replace the fan without risk of voiding the warranty?? Thanks for the prompt response. I am happy to provide any other information you might need.

What is the MAC address of the unit you have a fan failure with?

A lot of times the fan is not failing but from temperature changes the metal warps and if we tightened the fan too tight at assembly it can cause the fan to rub.

Try loosening the 2 fan screws slightly to see if that resolves the issue.

I did try loosening the two screws, but that didn't seem to work...

Your call, you can order a FAN and replace it or RMA it.
