So what are the changelog for RC5? As I can see, there is no mentioned.

I know, I am waiting on details myself but apparently it is something Eric reversed that he changed after v1.4.2rc6 that has caused a few people issues.
Support is handled on the Forums not in Emails and PMs.

I noticed configurable email alerts is gone in rc6. was there a bug in the alerts ?

Its been moved to the little gear next to the Test button in the SMTP section.

That's not true, the switch core simply ignores Rx Drops on the counter your referring to for many reasons.
If there is any other type of error such as Rx CRC it will report in that counter.
