ok, I am going to swap it out with a 1500 we have. I thought for sure it was a WS-8-150AC issue and that when I changed it out to the WS-12-250AC that there would be no more issues.

We are only running about 50 watts through the switch but I know what your saying about the in rush.

I do not know what to say.

Try holding the default button in for 20 seconds while you plug it in then let it set for 3-4 minutes as it re-formats the JFFS2 files system.

So lets get your situation understood:
You had a WS-8-150-AC unit at this site that went bad.
Then you replaced it with a WS-12-250-AC that is now bad almost immediately?

Describe this site to me:
What type of tower?
Does the tower have a grounding system?
Where is your equipment located?
Where do you get power from?
How far from the tower are the Electric Service ground rods?
Is the Electric Service Grounds bonded to the tower ground rods?

HI,
I am kinda gonna refer back to an original post I made about quick fluctuating voltages as this is the same site. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=190

this is a 16 storey apt building that we upgrade the grounding include the Halo directly into the cabinet and disconnected the AC ground. described in previous post above.

short storey,
- First had a ws-6mini installed,
- ran out of ports,
- grabbed a ws-8-150AC when they became available, put it in.
- Voltages started to fluctuate sometime after the switch was installed. I am sure it's in the linked post above
- WS-8-150AC started to reboot randomly upgraded the firmware to 1.4.4 no difference.
- Replaced it with as spare ws-8150AC. then it started to reboot randomly also,
- tried a downgrade and the switch rebooted during the downgrade. IT is now enroute to you for RMA
- installed a ws-12-250AC last night, ran great until noon (no voltage fluctuations), when it stopped passing traffic and I couldn't log into it.
- went on site saw the poe lights all off, power light on but flashing slowly.
- yanked the switch and put in poe's
- put switch on bench, reboots all the time.

very discouraged to say the least, this is my head end switch and when it goes down so do all my clients.

Just did a 20 sec hold of the power button however that didn't solve the reboot issue. it almost seems thermal, like when the fan kicks on the switch reboots.

This is weird .I order 2 of these and got them yesterday. I am going to burn in the other switch tonight and see what happens.

oh yeah this switch is running 1.4.2

Tower is an appartmemt building with concrete walls, 16 storey, we have a cabinet in theboiler room. All radios are grounded to the roof HALO ground and then cabinet uses #6 wire about 30 to the HALO for ground. It get AC power (no ground) from the utility power.

Cabinet ground is the distributed though #14 bare. copper to netonix and mikrotik.

Let me know if you need more

This is what concerns me about this install.

2 significantly different ground systems with different ground potentials.

What does #6 wire about 30 to HALO mean?

Do you have the boxes that these switches you just received near by?

If so please take a picture of the Labels with the bar codes on the outside of the box and email to me at chris@netonix.com

Please do not install another switch at this location until we work some things out.

Sorry I was typing and not making sense, #6 ground cable about 30 feet is running from cabinet to the HALO.

I Only have 1 box left cause I used the other to ship to you for RMA of the ws-8-150AC. But I'll send you a pic of the 1 box barcode I have left. The box still has brand new unit sealed in it and I won't install until we figure this out.

I have the unit in the video right here so I'll email you the mac addy of it also
