Just map the PCP value to the desired queue on the QoS tab.

Then I have to select "Trust" on each port to make it work, is that right?

OK, and is that right that until 1.4.4 all incoming PCP and DSCP values were ignored and all traffic went to default Q0 ?

And until 1.4.4 - were all DSCP or PCP values of incoming/outgoing packets cleared?

Correct.

It's a little confusing:
- I check "Enable" under QoS tab
- I map each PCP value to one of the eight queues.

Is it mandatory check "Trust" under "Port configuration" ???
Must I select the port mark too?

All the packets present in queue 7 will be processed before any others in the rest of queues as in PCP? in other words, What is the highest priority queue 0 or 7?

IF i set a queue for a port in "Port Configuration" will this queue be applied for all packets? or only for untagged ones? What happens if a packet comes with PCP other than port specified?

Thanks in advance.

No, the packets are not changed.

If you want to trust the PCP/DSCP values on packets coming into that port, then yes.

Highest priority is 7.

Only untagged packets if Trust is checked, otherwise all packets.

I'm not sure what you are asking.

expohl wrote:1. This switch is at my house, I have redundant ptp links to the switch, my router wan to my house faces port 1, my main ptp link is on port 2, and my secondary link is on port 3, ports 1,2,3 are on a un-tagged group of vlans and port 3 is disabled by unchecking the "enable" box under the ports tab. Traffic flows normally to the router. If port 3 is enabled and port 2 is disabled under the ports tab I can't pass traffic over the second link, however if I enable all 3 under the ports tab and take port 2 out of the vlan I can pass traffic over the backup link. So basically my intended "fail over" was if one link went down, I would disable it under the ports tab and enable the other link (port) which isn't working but if I simply leave them all enabled and add or remove the backup and primary link with vlans it works fine.

I duplicated this configuration in the lab. I had a laptop plugged into port 1, and ports 2 and 3 were connected my main switch, with those 3 ports being on an untagged vlan. I was able to switch back and forth between ports 2 and 3 by enabling/disabling each port with no problems.

expohl wrote:2. Previously I left the warn/hibernate/wake up voltages at their factory settings despite being on 24v system powering the switch. Today I looked and the log shows the past 24hrs being at 28v so I decided to set the warning at 27v, hibernate at 23v and the wakeup at 24v. A little later I rebooted the switch and it shut off and went black besides the single green smd led on the power supply inside the switch. I measured the input terminals at 28.0v. I tried to remove power for 10 seconds and power it back up and it still would be dark and not boot. Finally after leaving the power off for 10 minutes and powering it back up it finally booted, this would be devastating if it occurred on a normal site... I suspect the switch was in hibernation mode?

Again I duplicated this configuration in the lab but was unable to reproduce the problem.

About my last question: Today I'm not sure what I was asking yesterday. Probabily when writted had some sense for me. After reading your answers I understand if a packet comes with PCP other than port specified, this packet PCP will be trusted if trust is checked and changed for queue port value if not "trusted" I'm right?

One more question:
What is the use for the "Port" mark under "Port configuration?"

Thanks Eric.
