POE 48V max 36 watt

Fri Dec 30, 2016 4:34 pm

Hello

We use a camera a little greedy in watt with infrared at night :willy:

What is the risk if we exceed 36 watts or is there still a margin of safety?
Thank you

48V POE option is really 50V and is "rated" to .75A or 37.5 watts so your good.

Will it push more.....sure, probably safely up close to 50 watts

But if the camera is designed to accept power on all 4 pair you could use 48VH which is rated to 1.5 amps or 75 watts and will push closer to 2 amps or 100 watts

BUT MAKE SURE FIRST IT CAN ACCEPT POWER ON ALL 4 PAIR

48VH is 802.3af/at Mode A and Mode B at the same time.

See our spec sheet page 17 for polarity PIN outs.
