Bad powercords?

Mon Jan 09, 2017 10:09 am

Seen this on two units so far, looks like the power cord in these instance that comes with the kit isn't making proper contact with the unit. Any slight movement to the cable and the unit will lose power.

After the cable is replaced all is fine.

Two unit info (WS-12-250-AC):

MAC: EC:13:B2:61:BC:82

MAC: EC:13:B2:61:BC:66 Mfr date: 2016/09/14

we had a batch that were tough to insert fully, and you'd see that.. Nothing firm pressure couldn't fix though.

Yes, the first insert requires a little extra pressure but then after that they go in just fine.

We went with ones that push in hard the first time but stay in as we also had them the other way where they pushed in easy the first time but could fall out easier.

ISTR mentioning wanting a place to zip tie the cord in my very first review years ago. Don't mean for it to be "I told you so" but zip tying the cord is a best practice I like to do.

Yeah the two cables that we received are very loose, even when pushed in hard.

They both fell out on the bench while configuring it.

When I say Push in hard the first time I mean HARD. I sent a hole shipment back once to factory and they schooled me on what I was doing wrong.

Should look like below when fully inserted:
