WS-12-250-AC dead or strange behavior

Today one og our towers got offline, we had access to STA powered by the WS-12-250-AC we cut see nic link down on Airfiber/AC link but still powered up, no access to WS-12-250-AC, i went onsite, all NIC LED had solid light no blinking at all, fan was verry nosy unstable vibration. we removed power to the switch tjecked all cable for shorting/wather damagde nothing to see, powered up switch again, no PoE turns on, nic port do link up to computer but no communication, reset presuture is not working, nothing is happening when using reset button for 5 or 10 sec etc.

We installed a new WS-12-250-AC moved all nic cables, upgraded firmware to 1.4.6 on the new WS-12-250-AC, restored configuration backup from tftp backup, and we are online again, down time less than an hour including drive time to the tower etc, for that i give you a big thanks for this great product, and restore/backup auto tftp solution.

So what do we do now with the not working WS-12-250-AC, any suggestion?

You RMA the unit that is either damaged or failed.
If it is damaged we fix for FEE
If failed we fix for FREE

Always better to RMA as usually worst case is usually 1/2 price of new unit.

We fix units even when they are out of warranty so it is like once you buy the switch we will fix it as long as we have parts to do so.

I got it to work again.....

"Press the factory default button and hold for 10 seconds when powering up" this worked and it is working again.... but havent tested if it sends out PoE power.

But can i get/buy a new fan, my location is Denmark/Europe

So cut it be possible it just lost configuration?

But try loosening the fan screws a little to see if that fixes the fan issue as sometimes the metal warps in temp and twist the fan housing.

I would also inspect the board for visible damage and test each port for connection, POE, and watts reporting.

If you do want to buy a FAN you would be smart to also order a few switches because to Europe if you ship 4 switches the average cost per switch is less than $20 shipping.

Also while you have the unit open you could consider these MODs if you are good with solder iron.

These MODs will help protect the switch from ground current flow.

We have since starting doing this on all switches as of September last year.
