Is there any work toward making an 802.3af or 802.3at capable switch in the future? For an environment with IP phones that move from one port to another, passive 48V is not an option. I would be happy to use Netonix switches everywhere instead of the various switches I use now. I would also buy non-PoE switches as well. I have not found anything with a better and easier to use interface than Netonix switches.
If I were making a wish list, I would hope for something like the WS-6-MINI, WS-12-DC, WS-12-250-AC, and WS-12-250-DC but with 802.3af/at as an option. I am guessing that 802.3af/at could not be added with a firmware update?

802.3af/at requires a different front end than we employ in this generation of switches.
As I understand it there are discussions about moving towards that in the future, but for now you are correct; firmware would not be able to add this capability.
Unless Eric finishes that switch.MagicWand function, that is.

That's what I thought would be the case. I do hope something will materialize down the road. Thank you.
