Hi,
Apologies for posting this here as i'm pretty certain its a config issue but i have spent days on this and not sure what else to try.
I have a site where 7 Ws6 Mini switches, 6 of which has 2 x NanoStation M5's and 1 x UBNT Outdoor AP Plus plugged into them. Every switch has the same config apart from IP address info, NSM5's are in ports 3 & 4 and the AP in port.
The firmware on every switch is 1.4.2. Every switch is powered by a UBNT AF POE ( 50 volt ) injector plugged into port 1
The problem i am having is on port 6 - the one with the AP plugged into it is up and down all the time, see below
Feb 15 18:11:03 Port: link state changed to 'up' (100M-F) on port 6

Looking at the logs this has been going on for weeks.
I can't see anything obvious, i'm certain its not hardware ( switch or plugged in kit ) as it happens on every one so it has to be config.
If anyone can point me in the right direction i woudl REALLY appreciate it. Happy to post a config if it helps.
Many Thanks

OK I will be happy to help but I have requirements as follows:
1) Upgrade firmware to v1.4.7rc8 which you can download here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=240
There was a piece of paper that was on top of the switch that told you to upgrade the firmware before you use.
Besides I only help debug issues if the switch is running the latest firmware for obvious reasons.
2) "After" you upgrade please post up the Config Tabs listed below:
Status
Ports
VLANs - If any VLANs are defined
STP - If STP/RSTP/MSTP is enabled
Power
Device/Config
Device/Status

Okey Dokey... Firmware Updated to latest as requested and below are Screen Shots. STP isn't enabled but i have the screenshot just in case. The only Vlans used are 1, 101.
Also, for good measure I have added the latest view of the log which shows the port state still changing.
Hope that helps. Thanks..

Re: WS6 Mini - port state chnages every 30 secs or so
So is the AP on port 6 rebooting, you can determine this by looking at its up time on the AP?
I am guessing not based on time between up and down is but seconds.
Does the exact same thing occur on all WS-6-MINI units, always port 6 up down in a couple seconds?
This occurs constantly?

Re: WS6 Mini - port state chnages every 30 secs or so
Hi @Sirhc
Thanks for your help so far. The AP isn't rebooting but we are having connectivity / slowness issues from clients hence why this is being looked into.
Just to cover all my bases i have also recently upgraded the UBNT controller to the lasted version and firmware'ed all the AP's too.
Screenshot attached of the controller for the AP Associated to this switch from the first screenshots and also a screenshot on another switch ( firmware 1.4.2 ) on the same Lan.. same thing happening to them all. Its all very odd

Re: WS6 Mini - port state chnages every 30 secs or so
Just doubled checked 5 other switches and it happens on them all... a couple of them also have similar issues on other ports where NSM5's are plugged in but its only occasional and nothing like every 30 seconds or so with the AP port.

which unifi AP are you using?
Please describe the install.
Where the WS-6 is installed, the radios, and where the POE brick is located.

Re: WS6 Mini - port state chnages every 30 secs or so
No problem, The install is for a public WiFi in a small town in the UK. Each "location" is a street light running along the town high street. At the bottom of the street light is the POE brick located inside the column connected to the mains. There is a 5mtr Cat5e fly lead plugged into the POE side of the brick that runs up the inside of the street lamp and then pops out at around 4.5mtrs. Where the cable comes out we use your switch enclosures where the fly lead goes straight into and the switches are located. Out of the switch are 1 mtr fly leads which plug into the UBNT NanoStation M5's for 2 ports ( 3 & 4 ) and in port 6 is a UBNT Outdoor AP Plus. One of the switches has 3 x NSM5's and another couple only have 1.
The whole street is one long wireless LAN with each NSM5 creating a P2P link between the street lights and the AP acts as the media for the clients to connect to that LAN. At the start the NanoStation plugs into a MikroTik router which is connected to the Internet. Quite straight forward really.
We don't get massive amounts of devices connect, around 70 - 90 at any one time spread over all locations ( street lamps ).
Its late here now so i'm calling it a day but tomorrow i will check some of our other sites, all of which use the same system, your switches & UBNT kit and will see if we get similar issues on any others.
I presume there is nothing obvious jumping out at you re switch configuration ?
Thanks..

Re: WS6 Mini - port state chnages every 30 secs or so
No, nothing in config jumps out at me.
What model UniFi AP is this please.
I also assume you have the Ethernet port in the radios set to AUTO?
The switch is not rebooting, the radio is not rebooting just the Ethernet communications drops.
This really has to be 1 of following:
1) PIN 1,2,3 or 5 is crimped bad on an end as these PINs carry 10/100 communications. PINs 4,5 are + and PINs 7,8 -
If poorly crimped ends any movement could cause loss of communications?
Could also be that ends are not staying clipped in?
2) Bad cables - doubt this
3) if you have Ethernet port hard set to 100M instead of AUTO and errors on cable would cause link to drop like this.
THIS IS ONE I WOULD GUESS MOST, CHECK RADIOS
