An AP goes down and while I've got 100F link it isn't passing traffic back and forth. I thought it was ePMP so I change it from 24v to 48v. It was a Rocket.

The entire WispSwitch locks ups and disappears. I drive out there and remove the device from port 8, sites all back, replace the AP, etc. My question is now that port 8 is toast should I worry the rest of the switch will eventually go bad? It's got what I need now, but I don't want this switch to start dropping ports over time.

as long as you don't power the fried port, you should be okay. *should*here is not a definitive statement, just what my experience has been.

I can generally fix switches in this condition, so you're aware; the fee is usually $50 if repair is successful. Not saying it will be, but it might be worth a shot if you ever need that port.

Well I would think that the experience of someone at Netonix is really the best you can ask for.

I'd much prefer to not deal with it and leave it running. Hopefully I have the same experience as you.

May the odds be ever in your favor ;). The possibility exists that damage to the SOC has occurred, and eventually creep further.. If it ever locks up and refuses to boot, it's a fair bet that's what happened, it'll be RMA time for a new board at that point.
