Setting Management Vlan?
Hey guys. I talked to Chris about this tonight and he said that this is possible but I was trying to figure out how to set the management vlan for the switch to something different than the default vlan of 1. Maybe it is extremely obvious but if someone could tell me the way about doing it that would be great. Thanks!

Re: Setting Management Vlan?
It is possible, but not with the current version of the firmware. I have discussed this feature with developer working on the web UI, and we actually removed the feature (temporarily) so we could move forward with testing more 'mission critical' stuff at that time. I will suggest that we bring that ability into a future version of the firmware.
No promises as to when at this point as I have not spoken to the coder. I will check back in when I have more information.

Ok will be waiting on that one. Might try to get something to let me into the console remotely for right now. Thanks for the response!

Bringing this up again.... Is there a thought on when this will be available? I know you guys are working on it. If you don't want to say for right now I understand but would like to see this soon. :)

Re: Setting Management Vlan?
It will be by the end of the year.
First we want to make sure we have a stable firmware with existing feature set.

Re: Setting Management Vlan?
I was also looking for this feature so I presume it's still not implemanted yet. I would also like to make two feature request :
A IP address by VLAN so ping watchdog is able to ping device on each VLAN directly without passing trough the router.
Be able to set multiple management VLANs (be able to choose on witch VLAN we want the management to be reachable or not). Maybe it could be done via iptables by dropping all except ping to unmanaged IP address.

Re: Setting Management Vlan?
Here is the current firmware roadmap:
Several people have already requested the ability to assign an IP to each VLAN, we are considering this as well once we have a stable firmware that everyone is saticfied with that has the option currently available or outlined on the firmware roadmap located here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=295
Goal for 1.0.6 - DONE
Combine Save Apply Buttons
Wrap up some back ground changes
Goal for 1.0.7 - by 12/5/2014 - RELEASED 12/6/2014
Better event logging in the log files
Log login events, source IP if possible
Log config changes preferably source IP doing the changes if possible
HOT FIX 1.0.8 - Released 12/7/2014
Hot fix of MAC table broke in 1.0.7 - SORRY
Goal for 1.0.9 - by 12/12/2014
Finish SMTP alerts with better formatting
Goal for v1.1.0 - by 12/19/2014
IPV6
Access list to access UI/CLI/SNMP
Web portal login - logout button in UI
Tar Pit on UI and CLI attempts
Allow configuration for LAG groups as far as how the aggregation is done.
Goal for v1.2.0 - End of December
Renumber/Rename Default/Management VLAN
Fix port(s) mirror to IP
If mirror to IP is fixed then last known IP in MAC table "may" be possible

Re: Setting Management Vlan?
What is the current default management VLAN, Chris? is it 1? In other words, if I put this on a VLANed network where will it end up? Or will the switch be islanded off in its own little world?

Default VLAN ID is 1, version 1.2 by end of year will allow this to be renamed and re-numbered
However your question is not complete.
Explain what you want to achieve in more detail please
