I had a laptop plugged into a mirror port, unfortunately the laptop got unplugged. After the battery drained, throughput went to almost nothing on the port that was mirrored. High latency as well to both the switch's management and device.

Removing the mirroring restored everything to normal operation.

I've been able to reproduce this on another switch running 1.4.7.

I am making a guess here and would appreciate it if you could test my theory.

Disable Flow Control on the port going to the laptop that is receiving the mirrored data and see if that corrects it.

First time this happened, flow control was enabled. I reproduced this on a switch without flow control yesterday. Had AC sectors without it turned on.

Sorry if you explained I am just wanting to verify.

Yup.

I can also reproduce this by mirroring a active port into a port with nothing plugged into it.

Its not a bug. You told it to mirror to a port, but with nothing plugged into the port it has no where to send the packets, so it buffers them until the buffers fill up which kills the throughput.

Maybe unpluging the port should automaticly disable mirroring until the port is plug back. We would not expect a switch throughput to be affected because the mirroring server is down. It's even worst since mirroring is often use a core network where performance is crucial. I'm surprise microsemi vitesse chip don't do it automaticly since it's affecting performance.

A bug that make testing hard, adding management VLAN to ERPS monitored vlans list still block access to the VLAN via port not part of the ring (not est or west), or at less, to IP address of the VLAN. That make it hard and long to test since menagement to a switch is often lost and I can have a serial access to multiple switch. Via console, the 3 switch can ping each other on management VLAN.

A good point is that now, switch don't seem to reboot while doing change on ERPS.

Edit: I removed a lot from this post since I found the problem (at less, I think, VLAN config is really confusing while trying to avoid loop on management VLAN).

Feature request for CLI:
That taping "show interface" only return the same output as "show interface status". I even vote for removing the "show interface status" command since status and statistic both begin with "stat". That make tab completition not really effective for those commands.
