Sounds good. I'll check those things and then find a place in the network that's easy to get to and try it out.

Thanks

We encountered a very bizarre situation after an upgrade to 1.4.7. Web login no longer works. However, we can use the password to login via SSH. We have four WS-8-AC switches and only 1 of them has this issue.

- Keyboard is fine
- Password is definitely correct
- It worked on SSH but not HTTPS

Please advise.

Did you read the release note before you upgraded or just upgraded? :ak:

login to SSH and change the password in there and you "should" be fine

Here is my problem..

New WS-12-250-DC fresh out of the box.
I apply 12 volts and log in to the web GUI.
Everything is still at factory defaults.
I Upgrade from v1.4.2 to v1.4.7.
Everything progressed nicely and the last screen said the the GUI would refresh after the switch reboots.
I waited about 30 minutes, no refresh and now I can't get the switch to connect at all via HTTPS.
A cold boot made no difference
I can ping the switch at 192.168.1.20..
I can SSH into the switch and I get the password prompt, although admin and admin will not let me in.

What am I overlooking? :headb:
Any suggestions are welcome!

try defaulting it - press and hold the button behind the pinhole on front of chassis to the right of the power LED, you should see a green LED crawl after so many seconds, and then a red LED crawl after a few more, release it after the red crawl is complete - your login woes should be solved, at least.

I would try hitting REFRESH or restarting or using another browser as the pages caches and there are changes between versions.

Also clearing the cache.

For those of us that are new, how long should a firmware upgrade take?

I'm at 20 min on a mini6 going from 1.42 to 1.47. Port 1 has a light, but there are no pings etc. I saw the status move along and then it stopped at 8% after a few rounds up to 100% and a number of update lines in the web gui. No other ports (port2) will light up when plugged directly to a notebook. I did NOT unplug any hot ports for fear of causing damage and have not powered it down.

It is powered by PoE and is on the bench, so no biggy, I just hope it's not bricked. This is our first firmware upgrade.

OK.. so now what? I've tried to reboot it with PoE and a barrel connector at 48V. I get one solid green light on port 1 regardless if anything is plugged in or not.

I've tried to hold down the reset button when powering it up and left it on for 10 min. Nothing changes, no blinking. Just the solid green on port 1. No other ports light up.

The unit has about 3 hours of bench testing on it. It lived and died on the bench... spent its whole life there and didn't get to see the real world. ***sniff***.

Is there a troubleshooting how-to somewhere or what options do we have?
