WS-12-250-AC switch: STP: MSTI0

Tue Aug 15, 2017 10:14 am

Anyone ever seen this on a Netonix WS-12-250-AC switch:
STP: MSTI0: New root on port 4, root path cost is 240000, it's connected to M5 rocket ptp link that's connected to 5 port toughswitch for a small pop?

The major problem is that port 11 is our backhaul to the tower port 4 feeds another small pop. Any help would be appreciated.

here are some of the logs......

Note: The reason I'm posting this here is due to an official response from an email that was sent to resolve an ongoing problem where I have been having loosing connection to several ports on this switch before I start swapping switch/wire/radio.

That is correct, we offer support on the forums not email and PMs for the reasons mentioned above.

However I asked you also to post up screen grabs of your Config Tabs especially your STP/RSTP/MSTP Tab.

It is know that UBNT ToughSwitch has issues with RSTP, I would disable STP on the port destined to the ToughSwitch.

If you're using RSTP or MSTP (which is in development still) you would need to show the RSTP configs on all switches in the segment for any help.

Looks like your suggestion to disable RSTP on port connected to Tough Switch helped however problem still exists here is what it will do note port 11 is main backhaul AF5X do you think it could be a over current issue because it takes out port 4,8,9 & 10. Port 3 is backup backhaul and when i just use it this log is clean.... I'm going to drive to tower and install a POE to test my theory.... please look at what happens see log:

Maybe upload a network diagram showing your Layer 2 Segment including switches and links on each switch port.

There a lo of post on the forum where users suggest not using RSTP on port to AP's

Here is one list of Posts from Mike99 on RSTP there are other users with differnt configurations and suggestions as to what works best for them.
