Just got a new Gen2 prism and noticed the 1 amp power supply so it must use more then .5 or they wouldn't have changed it from everything else so does anyone know how much they use? Safe to use with ws-mini that says .75 max per port?

Re: new gen2 prism 1 amp power supply
Yes your fine.
Our .5A (OLDER MODELS) and .75A POE options are rated to deliver a CONSTANT .5A or .75A in a 55C environment with spikes up to 1A and a little above.
The .5A and .75A are only the polyfuse ratings are the safety breaker not the capacity if the MOSFET or Transformers.
The beauty of our switches is they will tell you how many watts they are using - LOOK AT THE GRAPHS FOR EACH PORT AND SEE WHAT RADIOS REALLY ARE USING
Half duplex radios like airMAX use low power on idle and receive and spike during transmits. They over size the POE brick to increase their MTBF. Our switches have a 250W to 400W power supply.
Trust me you're fine!!!!

Re: new gen2 prism 1 amp power supply
just realized this switch is a ws 8 150 ac and I cant find anywhere where it shows wattage per port like the mini's do. Its board F and minis are E that I have.
Is it hidden or just not in the revision? running 1.4.8rc5. Must be because this is an AC switch versus DC or something?

I know I'm fine I heard you the first time just wondering why it doesn't show wattage on the switch? Is it because AC switches don't have that feature or am I missing it's location or a setting or something?

The WS-8-150-AC is our only model without per port watts but does report overall watts used
THIS IS WHY
