Hi,

The following information is needed:

What model switch?

What firmware version are you running?

The only way I know of that the flash can be ful is the switch is hacked because you are running an OLD version of firmware. Security patches are applied to firmware releases when discovered.

If your running a OLD version of firmware you need to remove from service and factory default the switch.

Upgrade the firmware to v1.4.8rc12

Set it back up and re-install the switch.
Support is handled on the Forums not in Emails and PMs.

Full memory is not an issue, it's normal on embedded device with read-only flash drive.

It's running Firmware Version: 1.4.7

Is there something I can delete on the disk so I can regain GUI access and upgrade the firmware? The IP on these switches isn't internet facing, it shouldn't have been hacked.

Your df output is normal - from one of my WS12's [edit: also on 1.4.7]:

Code: Select all
admin@ws12:/www# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
rootfs 5.7M 5.7M 0 100% /
/dev/root 5.7M 5.7M 0 100% /rom
/dev/mtdblock6 4.3M 1.3M 2.9M 31% /jffs
mini_fo:/jffs 5.7M 5.7M 0 100% /

You can do a firmware upgrade from the CLI using tftp, e.g.:
Code: Select all
 firmware upgrade tftp://192.168.0.19/wispswitch-1.4.7.bin

ah, ok! I'll try this. Thank you! If it's not a disk full situation and before this the gui was working, what else could be preventing the gui from working? The reason I suspected the full disk was from an earlier forum post that mentioned not being able to access the gui because it was full.

It's not the first time it's reported and, if I remeber well, the netonix team can fix it with a ssh access but I'm not sure the solution was shared.

You can try restarting the http service. See the 3rd post in viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2013

ok so, I tried it on a second switch that was exhibiting the same behavior.

Unlocking /dev/mtd8 ...
Writing from redboot_config to /dev/mtd8 ...
Running postflash script ...
cp: can't create '/upgrade_config.tar': No space left on device
Done!
touch: /warmboot: No space left on device
switch[3768]: Reboot initiated by firmware upgrade from CLI
touch: /warmboot: No space left on device
touch: /warmboot: No space left on device
