Re: no email from netonix
Can we get a setting/option so that the switch will send an email after a cold boot? Granted, this type of alert would probably need to be delayed so that all radios have time to power up and establish links before the switch tries to send out the email, but I think a 5 min delay would probably be more than sufficient.
Have a switch in a location that was having electrical issues, but did not get an email so it went unnoticed for a day (until customers called). Apparently the power would drop for 5-10 seconds and then come back on (intermittent issue) but no emails were ever sent (like "Unexpected Reboot" or similar) so we didn't notice it. Took a customer calling in for us to become aware of the problem. A single email from the switch would have given a good heads-up that something was going on. Multiple emails (1 after each reboot) would have altered us that something really wrong was afoot.

Why not install the manager as it would alert you to this?
Download the Manager here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1549#p11439
Also using SNMP monitoring software would alert you to this.

Yeah. SNMP would probably do the trick, but this Netonix already has an email function in it. What I'm requesting is a very small extension to it.. Email after a cold boot... Plus, these switches aren't cheap. I've bought a bunch, and really it's about the only feature that I feel is "missing" for my particular situation.
As for the manager software, I tried it, and have not been impressed. I get way too many false "offline/online" emails/alerts. I'm not sure how you implemented the online/offline polling feature, but I'm hoping the monitoring software isn't triggering on a single missed ping or something.

Re: no email from netonix
Ive seen the same bug in the manager as above, various switches will show as offline when they are in-fact online, giving them a reboot seems to bring them back 'online' but other than not showing in the manager there is nothing wrong with them, so the polling of the device must have an issue some where.

What version firmware are you running on the switches and the Manager?
I have not seen this issue with my WISP.
I run the Linux version of Manager, never ran the Windows version.

At the time, whatever the most current version of each was. This was maybe.... 3 months ago that I last tried it. I would get FLOODS of emails (one for each switch on the network), yet at no time was my internet ever dropping out nor did I ever hear a peep out of any customers, radio uptime was consistent with no issues... The Netonix switches showed proper uptime.. So nothing was dropping off or rebooting.
I was using the Linux version of the monitoring software on a Debian machine that also hosts my AirControl2 server. I dunno if the issue was load related or what, but I eventually gave up on it.

Re: no email from netonix
There have been upgrades to the Manager and the switch firmware.
Could you please upgrade to v1.4.8 on your switches and upgrade to latest manager and see if the manager is still reporting false?
