WS-6–mini Purporting to be a WS-12-250AC

Wed Mar 07, 2018 9:22 pm

I purchased a WS-6-POE a little while ago and am finally getting it installed. I’m having a few issues that I’m hoping you can help me with.

I tried powering it from a WS-12-250AC switch, but it did not power up.

I used the power supply and powered it up, but I need to be able to power it by PoE from the 12-250.

The config appears to be incorrect for it. It says it is a WS-12-250AC with 14 ports.

It shows that ports 1 and 12 are in use, but in reality there are only 6 ports and ports 1 and 6 are actually in use.

Please advise.

Use a different browser or machine.
You can try clearing your browser cache.
Yes upgrade both to firmware v1.4.9

You can power a WS-6-MINI with POE in on Port 1 only.

You must configure the WS-12 POE for the port powering the WS-6-MINI to 48VH on the ports TAB.

Our switches are passive POE.

I upgraded the firmware, but it still shows as a 12-250ac at both the login screen as well as in the top left hand corner above the device name. If it were just this issue, I would just figure it out.

The larger issue is that it will not power on via poe.
