Restore Config from text file

Wed Apr 04, 2018 11:12 am

Hi,
For the WISP Switches, is there a way to Restore config from a text file? I have tried changing file extension from .txt to .ncfg and using the GUI to Restore, no luck. Have also tried via CLI, but I get a lot of 'ambiguous command' errors.

Thanks.

The config is stored in a JSON format.

If your file is not exactly and properly formatted it will cause major issues.

Be very very careful.

Thanks, Chris. Do you have a suggestion of how best to backup configurations from production switches? I'm hoping to automate this with a platform like Unimus.

You can use the autobackup option in the device tab that need a TFTP server.

Or use Netonix Manager - it will auto backup the configs, and then back them up every time you hit Save/Apply.

Lots of other nice features too like scheduling reboots and firmware updates.
