sirhc wrote:Our 8 port is more expensive than the ToughSwitch PRO but lets compare
Larger buffers
Better switch core (in my opinion and by manufacturer specs)
250 watt power supply
Current sensors
Temperature sensors
Fan cooling
Console port
Able to power airFIBER and other high power demand radios
SNMP
SMTP alerts
Bandwidth control per port
Better graphing with instant graphs (do not have to wait for it to populate)
Static and LACP LAG
WALL MOUNTABLE OUT OF BOX saving you on not having to buy my wall mount bracket for $29.95
The list goes on.....

WS-8-250-AC estimated at MSRP $259.95
ToughSwitch PRO MSRP $190.00

So it costs $69.95 more but I think it is well worth it?

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can add metal case and ground lug to the list.

Well to be fair the TS8 Pro has a metal chassis too.

Not yet  , because with the rack mount we were scratching our heads as to how we would fit them in our remote enclosures. (Which were going to go to TS POE, until we started reading the disappointing performance.) That's why your 8's are great Pirate6

(Our NOC and remote office run with Cisco switches.)

The 8 port will not have SFP cages but the 12 port in the same form factor will have 2 SFP cages so a total of 14 ports and all the same abilities as the WS-12-250A
