No PoE output

Mon Jul 16, 2018 3:11 am

This is an odd one. I pulled a new ws-12-250-ac from the sealed box and installed it at an existing site. Configured it on site, tested cables, turned poe on to verify links came up at 1g, then turned poe off till I could configure the gear from the comfort of my 4 screen workstation

The next day I log into the switch and turn poe on for a rocket and nothing. No link, not power use registering. Ran a cable test and the cable tests fine and at the expected length. I was thinking maybe the cable had gotten partially removed, so I tried another rocket and the same thing happen.

The short of it, regardless what I tried to power on 24v, 24hv, or 48v the ui would show poe on but no usage. I upgraded the switch, and no change. So I factory reset it (from software) and no change. Logged into our pdu and physically power cycled the switch and still no change. So far even on the bench I can't get the switch to turn poe on for any port, and this just seems too strange.

Thoughts, suggestions, opinions or is this just an RMA?

To confirm, if you turn POE OFF for the port you can get a 1G link with your laptop just no POE for that port?

Or are you saying no port works for POE but all ports get 1G link with laptop?

Sadly this is an RMA.
