I also just had a "Cold Reboot". No other indications of issues. This took everything down for about 3 minutes. No other indications of problems. I am running 1.5.0 on a WS-26-400-AC. This is the firs problem that we have had since installing it new this spring.

Then there is something wrong with your switch and you should RMA it.

Take it out of service.

Put on a bench in your office.

Have it doing nothing just sitting there and running and see if it reboots.

Sounds like a power supply issue.

Thanks for support... the switch is out of warranty and as I know, there is no repair service in the Europe? Otherwise I thought that you will reply to me with some comments of my crash log...because I though there were writen exact reasons of my crashes and could be firmware related?

Edit: Chris, do you mean power supply of the switch inside or my ouside power supply (my external UPS)?

This is not firmware related, it if was 60,000 people would be screaming.

Bench test it.

Simply factory default it then put it on a bench and let it run for 24 hours, my guess is it will reboot.

While on the bench maybe do a real BENCH TEST as described here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2780#p19221

Report back what you find.

People RMA from Europe all the time. If you send postal mail to us it is less than $25 to ship to me.

Our DHL shipping back is around $25.00

It cost more for someone to ship a switch from Alaska, Hawaii, and even California via UPS to us verses postal mail from Europe and our shipping fee to Europe with DHL with our discount is about the same as California, Alaska, Hawaii. (IF IT IS A REPAIR AND NOT WARRANTY)

Re: v1.5.0 Bug reports and Comments

We have a WS-12-250B. It has been running fine for the last 2 years. It was a few versions behind on firmware so we updated it a few weeks ago to 1.5.0. Ever since then we are getting random reboots of the switch which are also power cycling the radios connected to it. Also it is reporting that Fan 1 isn't working even though it is. It will show Fan 1 come on, show a speed for it, then it will go back to showing off. Fan 2 is reporting 8500 RPM.

Any suggestions? Should I roll back to a previous version?

Thanks

I do not believe this is from the firmware.

You can roll it back but I do not think this is the issue.

Sometimes coincidental shit happens.

I used to hate it when people would bring their computer in to our little computer shop/store to install a new modem (yea shows how old I am) or video card and the hard drive would take that time to fail and they woulds blame us that the hard drive picked that exact moment in time to fail and their bill went from under $100 to several hundred dollars and they lost some goat porn or something on the old drive we could not recover.

Now it could be that the config got corrupted somehow so I would first try factory defaulting it (power on factory default is always best as it reforms the JFFS2 file system but takes a few minutes) and then setting it back up manually.

As far as the fan, well it is 2 to 3 years old and may be failing?

It always could be a coincidence, but the first time was the day after the firmware update. And the fan issue started immediately after the firmware update. The fans are both clean and spinning fine.

I could give defaulting a shot. Since both problems appeared after the firmware update. It had never once complained about a fan previously.

I do have config backups for it, would it be better to default and enter everything from scratch, or default and then restore?

Thanks,

David
