ws-12-250-DC power supply error
Switch suddenly without warning rebooted, upon return we found this.
Not sure where to go here, this switch is at the top of a ski resort and it's no longer snow free...

Normally switches do not reboot for no reason, the hard part is finding the reason.
If you are monitoring it via SNMP I would look at input voltages.
Is this hooked directly to the battery bank or to a power supply/charger? We recommend SMART DC units to be hooked directly to the battery bank (with inline fuse or breaker of course) and the charger to be hooked to the battery bank separately for good reasons. Power supplies can hiccup and our power supply sees this blip and reacts whereas battery output is always smoother/constant with slower variations with no hiccups.
If you are going to use a power supply then use a 48V power supply and use the WS-12-DC not the SMART DC model.
Ground current can cause a reboot and or damage if electrical service grounds are not bonded to tower grounds.
Is this a large flat Layer 2 segment with "hundreds" of devices, if so disable the UBNT/Discovery TAB in the Device/Configuration TAB.
As far as the ERROR on the power supply firmware version that could or could not be an issue that could be fixed with a reboot but if this is hard to get to I would wait and do it on site with a spare pre programmed up just in case.

This guy is hooked directly to the batteries and a charge control also hooked directly to the batteries. The site is well grounded, bonding to the metal building as well as meter ground with additional grounding rods all bonded as well.
A reboot solved the power supply firmware error. After that I decided to upgrade and that did not go so well. After upgrade the switch went into a cycle of power on for 10-15 seconds then off. Not wanting to freeze to death I just replaced the switch and will try a bench firmware recovery. I did have an sfp in an unknown state when I pushed the upgrade, but didn't think much of it at the time.
On the new switch I didn't continue use of the SFPs and instead just used ethernet ports.

The switch will boot and seems fine when booting with an AC power supply attached, but I can't get the DC supply to power it. Is this just a supply issue or could it be a PS fireware issue?

Could be a defective power supply, please RMA it.
