Memory Usage - 'Overload'
I have three repeater sites with Netonix switches. Each month I have to reboot each switch as the memory usage increases to a dangerous level (close to maximum 120MB+). Once I reboot the switch it drops back to less than 50%. I’m running versions 1.5.0 and 1.5.1rc2. I tried upgrading the switch last night to 1.5.1rc8 but it won’t accept it and stayed on its current version. Please help?

Re: Memory Usage - 'Overload'
Possible causes:
Discovery TAB with large flat layer 2 segment? - Try disabling Discovery TAB on Device/Status TAB
Also Disable other Discover Protocols
SNMP polling to often, reduce SNMP polling times.
More than 1 Netonix Manager - Never use more than 1 Manager to monitor Netonix Switches.
Turn off SMTP for awhile see what that does.
Try disabling different services until you find what service is the issue.
As far as firmware upgrade fail I would suggest rebooting the switch before you try and upgrade it because if it is low in memory it could fail. Beyond that do a power on factory default, then upgrade, then manually setup do not import config as the problem could be a corrupted config file?
Obviously this is not normal behavior so something is causing it, question is what.
I am not there or I would figure it out by simply disabling all features that are not needed until the issue went away then enable them slowly until I found the cause.
Also if this unit is accessible by the web you need to enable the Access Control List to limit who can even talk to the switch.
