Re: Request Feedback v1.1.0rc18 & rc19 - PLEASE
I guess that's what you call a paradoxical situation or a catch 22. I'm sorry that I don't run a complex enough test kit to ferret out issues. I'm guessing many others either don't have test kits to lab up and/or don't have the time for it.

Not wanting people to "LAB TEST" them (although it would not be frowned on - LOL) but to simply say they are using it, this is my basic config and I have no issue or this happens.
EXAMPLE 1:
WS-12-250B
Installed v1.1.0rc19
(6) 24V airMAX radios
(2) airFIBER radios
Simple VLAN config
Port Isolation
Flow Control, Multicast
Ping watch dog
Working fine
EXAMPLE 2:
WS-24-400A
Installed v1.1.0rc19
(8) 24V airMAX radios
(3) airFIBER radios
Flow Control, Multicast
Many VLANs configured
Port Trunking (allow all VLANs)
LACP to HP Procurve
Working fine
EXAMPLE 3:
WS-12-400A
Installed v1.1.0rc19
(4) 24V airMAX radios
(2) 24V airMAX radios
(1) airFIBER radios
Flow Control, Multicast
Many VLANs configured
Port Trunking (allow all VLANs)
Static LAG to Router
Working fine
Also maybe some observed/desired changes to UI layout or some other opinions maybe

Understood... pretty hard to simulate the real world in a lab. The lab test however helps to bolster confidence. My SOP always started with testing in the LAB, then testing in DEV and lastly testing in PROD.

Re: Request Feedback v1.1.0rc18 & rc19 - PLEASE
Just put rc19 on mine today and set up a few cameras out at the tower on it so is technically being used. Vlans work and I can get to the uvc cameras that would be on the same vlan as the switch management but some reason I can not get to the switch from the office. I used the method of adding an ip to a seperate vlan and not change the defaut vlan 1. I did verify out at the tower that I could get to both the cameras and the management using an untagged port on the switch. It just seems it is having an issue on the tagged port going to the core switch in my early observations. It was after hours by the time I got back to the office so I did not get to troubleshoot much. Will let you know more tomorrow.

You do realize the "secondary" IP addresses assigned to VLANs do not have default gateways (non route-able) and thus can only be accessed from other IPs within the same sub net that are also in the same non routed bridge.
If the IP in the VLAN is not in the same sub net and same bridged network as you are back at your office you can not get to it.
Also this information would help
Screen shot of your VLAN tab
Primary address, sub net, gateway of the switch.
Secondary address and sub net assigned to VLAN
IP address, sub net and gateway of your office computer, if behind a NAT router the public IP address would be nice
If you are using VALID IPs just transcribe to the invalid range or PM me the IP info

Re: Request Feedback v1.1.0rc18 & rc19 - PLEASE
I just upgraded one of my WS-24-400A to RC19. SMTP works fine with gmail. However I still can't get it to send out using out sendgrid.com account. hmm
I tested SMTP on my WS-12-250A thats running 1.0.8 and with the same SMTP setting it works.
Also my WS-24-400A at tower with RC18 works with gmail, but not sendgrid. so obviously i'm not holding my mouth right.
I'm gonna load the tower WS-24 with RC19 tonight after midnight. since that switch is actually using VLAN's, FC, MC, SMTP, SNMP, & NTP

I will ask Rory and Eric to check out sendgrid.com tomorrow, I never heard of isendgrid.com before.
I will try and stay up tonight and see if your upgrade goes well. I think your 1 hour behind me?

yep. 7 minutes until 12 midnight here.
sendgrid.com is just a smtp outbound mail service we use so we don't have to run our own smtp server in house. we were having trouble getting mail delivered to people with yahoo, hotmail and att.net email addresses and it fixed that.
I'm getting the false fan alert emails on the RC18 switch.

Yea Eric is looking into that issue. I think it is because we poll the fans one at a time and when we spin them up it takes a couple seconds for the second and or 3rd fan to register tach but we are checking rpm as soon as we apply power to the fans so during spin up 1 fan is showing RPM and the second and or third shows 0 until we mux shift to read the next fan and so the system thinks a fan is stopped. Just a simple logic over sight fans are fine.
