OK, need a switch suggestion?
Currently have a 1 gig fiber, into a ERL3 router, was going into a Tough Switch , which we replaced with a dumb netgear switch.
This all goes into our main backhaul links (Rocket M5's) to get to our remote hub site !
We had the problem with the 1 gig to 100 Mbps transition causing 1/2 half download to upload speeds. Only way I could prevent that was to set the ERL LAN port to 100 Mbps "Half Duplex" (a bad work around, I know).
If we replace the Netgear with one of your switches (which one), will it fix the dreaded 1 gig to 100 Mbps problem when I turn the ERL3 back to "Auto" on the LAN port?
And how would it be recommended to be configured?
Will be replacing the Rockets with AirFiber X's hopefully within a month!
Thanks,
Wayne

Re: Switch suggestion?
ANY of our switches as they all use the same switch core, a really nice Enterprise grade switch core the VSC7427 familiy, not a SOHO switch core from the BCM5311X family.
Depends if you want rack mount or not and how may ports you want.
Also how many airFIBER 5 or 24 you want to power, AF5X use 24V so any of the switches will power those.
A Models power up to 4 AF5/24
B Models power up to 2 ag5/24
As far as configuration here is my WISP tower config viewtopic.php?f=30&t=452
