Web Interface & High Latency Connections

I'm having some issues using the web Interface over a high latency satellite connection. My assumption is that the timer used to detect connectivity in the web Interface is set too low, causing the gui to think that it has lost connection to the device, and not allowing any changes to be made.

Would it be possible to have a configurable timer, or at least extend the current setting?
