With DHCP, you can use reserved IP address and manage those from a single centralized point. It's even more true while using dhcp relay.

Centralized management that makes changing the IPs on a bunch of devices easier.

We tested this last week when programmers were here and the switch obtained a DHCP address from NAT router then got time from time server out on the web.
Support is handled on the Forums not in Emails and PMs.
