We've had a lot of issues with our WS3 since it first arrived and many have been acknowledged however one that we would like an explicit answer to is why our WS3 consistently retrieves two IPv4 addresses on bootup. One of these IPv4 addresses allows access to the switch's web interface, the other does nothing, both have the same MAC address.
The setup for this is as follows:
- 1 WS3-14-600-AC (FW v2.0.7) grounded via the front grounding screw, connected to AC power, factory defaulted then DHCP enabled
- 1 Mikrotik RB 3011 UiAS-RM (latest RouterOS) connected to AC power
- ETH2 of Mikrotik router connected to port 1 of WS3 switch
With this setup the WS3 will consistently retrieve two IPv4 addresses both associated with the same MAC address but with different host names. I've attached an image showing this behaviour, the image was captured from the Mikrotik router's DHCP lease list. The "ghost" host name is 'estax-71-02-dc' estax appears to be part of an old Vitesse API version name and the remaining text matches the switch's MAC address.

thanks for pointing this out....we will look into it...

Thank you for the response Dave. I have mentioned this issue a couple of times before but I'm assuming the other issues in those posts took precedent.

Update on this. I had mis-typed. The image above was captured with FW 2.0.6RC4 the attached image on this reply is from FW 2.0.7. Of Interesting note is the hosts with similar names but the client ID Is strange for both.

As per conclusions drawn in another thread about this WS3 we have decided to RMA the unit for a second time. The relevant threads are linked below:
