TLS 1.2 support

Wed Feb 02, 2022 1:49 pm

After configuring SMTP on a WS-12-250-AC running firmware 1.5.8 I get the following message when I test the settings:

421 4.7.66 TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are not supported.
Please upgrade/update your client to support TLS 1.2.
ssmtp: Authorization failed (421 4.7.66 TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are not supported.
Please upgrade/update your client to support TLS 1.2. Visit https://aka.ms/smtp_auth_tls.

Do any newer firmware revisions support TLS 1.2?

Thanks,

Doug

Not yet sorry, working on it.

But why did you post this in the Pictures and stories threads instead of software?

It may be helpful to move this to the correct thread.

By enabling less secure apps in gmail settings I was able to get it to work correctly.

Yea I should have thought to tell you that, that is what my WISP does. Sorry, brain fart.

No joke, there's a post from 2017 saying the same thing. That's 1/2 a decade ago.

Bummer. Can't enable that setting if 2FA is used

The Internet Engineering Task Force, the National Institute for Standards and Technology, and the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, mandate that operators of web servers ensure that they’re using the most up-to-date version of the protocol, TLS 1.2 before the end of 2020.

'nuff said.
