WS-12-250-DC can work whitout fan?

Hi to all.

We have a WS-12-250-DC who got damage the POE power modules (if conect devices does''t power it) after a lligthning strike, but as switch is fully functional, so I take it as switch to my workstation, but from time to time the SW make a fan test for a few minutes and make a lot of noise.

With the premise that the SW is not making any POE functions and is an office enviroment, is posible to function without the fan?

yes, it should be okay without fan & no POE devices...assuming air-conditioned office.

Wolud be the espected temp in wich the sw reach a critical level that can afect the CPU?

as long as CPU temp doesn't go above 110 degree you are okay
