Strange, was this unit doing this before the software upgrade?

Re: Warning: expected 2 fans but only found 0
Hi Morton,
I am really sorry you are having an issue/outage that may be related to one of our products.
The WS-12-250A will run without it's fans unless it is operating in a really warm location which is probably not the case in Denmark. The larger rack mount models are not as dependent on the fans to cool them as the smaller compact models.
Now with that being said I am not saying that there is not a problem as it should not be reporting it can not find it's fans but this could just be a software bug that has nothing to do with the actual problem.
The same firmware runs on all models so there is a routine that determines the number of fans it has to "monitor" which could be messing up but even if that routine messes up that is only the routine used to monitor the fans not power the fans.
All fans are powered by one circuit not independently which means we do/can not control each fans speed separately, we just monitor their RPM separately so we can tell if one failed to spin even though we are sending it power.
So even if you see the message 0 fans detected but you looked at the unit the fans indeed would be running if the board is warm enough to warrant them to be running unless the fans physically failed which I doubt unless some kid jammed a pencil in the outlet holes.
Now it is possible you have a bad unit and if so we will open an RMA ticket for you.
Could you please provide more information as to what happens?
Where is the switch located(environment).
How long was the outage(s)?
What indicates the switch is the only possible cause other than the 0 FANS reported in the log?
Did the switch reboot, you can determine this by looking at the Device/Status Tab for the Switch up time?
Is the switch on a UPS?
Did any other piece of equipment blip at this location?
Can you provide screen grabs of all the Configuration Tabs?
If needed could you provide us access to log into the switch although I do not know if that will be needed.

Re: Warning: expected 2 fans but only found 0
Hello again
(Dave) Switch has only run with the firmware.
(Sirhc) I have take the switch out of service to day, when it shut down again today, it was offline for 30-45 minutes and then start up again, think it becomes too hot.
because i
could get data through my air fiber by bypass the switch.
but I can put switch to my computer and then i can send you me code to my logmein account. so you can log in the switch and retrieve what information you will.
switch is located in a dry house and sides in a 19 rack where the switch is grounded.
yes it has UPS.
I have look at the other DEVICES without finding anything.

Re: Warning: expected 2 fans but only found 0
Interesting, the WS-12-250A should really not have any thermal issues especially in an environment where the ambient temperature is not real warm. Those fans would not even need to run under those conditions.
So all the other WISP Switches are running fine it is just this one unit acting stupid?
Did you read my PM I sent you earlier on possible RMA options to lower costs for both of us?

Re: Warning: expected 2 fans but only found 0
This warning is a FALSE positive.
We have been trying to fix this false positive for awhile in the firmware.
It has to do with the fact that we use the same firmware on all our models with different numbers of fans and the logic to determine how many fans is not working the way we originally intended.
It happens in all my switches in service as well and I know it is annoying.
We could stop reporting it but the idea is to fix it not put a band-aid on it but it is just a bug not an indication anything is actually wrong.
We will be releasing a new firmware hopefully later today that "may" correct this, it is a work in progress, for now please just ignore it.
v1.1.1 detects it less often than v1.1.0 but hopefully v1.1.2 and v1.2.0rc6 will actually stop reporting false positives.
