Re: v1.5.25 Bug Reports and Comments
I updated to 1.0.21 (from 1.0.20) and have varying models and firmware from 1.5.14 to 1.5.25. Only a few showed up in 1.5.25, along with crashing a few times today. I sent in the crash log when it prompted. I ended up reverting to 1.0.20 (VM backup) and all of my switches are shown properly again, as expected.

Apparently, we are encountering a very strange issue with 1.0.20 as well as 1.0.21 @Yahel have asked to post it here. We did manual upgrade of netonix manager from 1.0.20 to 1.0.21 there was a UI issue which only show 5 Netonix in the list (see screenshots) we have close to 80 of them and that seems to be persistent even after upgrade. After restart of service we see the full list but as it start getting update from netonix it again reduce to 5 only. Is this a known issue? Do you have fix?
If this is new, then We are going to a fresh install of the netonix manager on a new VM and then add all netionix again.
Thanks,
What ranges of firmware are you using?
If a wild mix possibly try upgrading all to v1.5.25 (best firmware we have)
If all are v1.5.22 or higher then possibly you have corrupted install or config which may require removing all files and re-install from scratch?
We have mix version setup mostly 1.5.24 and 1.5.25. one odd might be still on 1.5.14.
OS is ubuntu 22.04 LTS
I ll attempt a fresh install and let you know my findings.
Thanks for the reply.
Re: v1.5.25 Bug Reports and Comments
We tried installing the netonix-manager version 1.0.21 from the scratch on a new VM running Ubuntu 22.04 with nodejs version 12.22.9
But this didn't solve the issue.
To add switches I used 172.18.0.0/24 wild card discovery and this found close to 80+ switches , We noticed there were duplicate entries as manager found monitor IP's on these switches as separate device. All switches were shown for a while and then the page refreshed and Only 3 netonix stayed visible. the last one with incomplete information.

Re: v1.5.25 Bug Reports and Comments
I am also noticing intermittent crashes on netonix manager and sending crash reports as I notice them.
Thanks,
Viv

Re: v1.5.25 Bug Reports and Comments
So talking with my coworker, I see what he is talking about now with the snmp. So the stats do come back, but the unit uptime does not get reset. Even after re-discovering the switch, it still continues to show the uptime before the firmware was upgraded, but if you reboot the unit a second time, it then resets the uptime back to the current time. But when you look at the switch's gui, the uptime does show the current uptime from when you upgraded it. I have attached a screenshot of what I mean.

If multiple people see this issue i will move it up on list.
Please report info such as windows or Linux flavor, OS version, number of switches in manager, all updated to v1.5 25 or mixed (why as v 1.5.25 is best vetsion) and so on.
I can confirm and i have send mail to Stephen about it, it happend if we get a crash (crash report is send to Netonix) or we try to refresh website, then we need to restart Netonix service some time twice and relogin wait to the list full update, and ok again.

mfwbooks wrote:We did an inplace upgrade of Netonix Manager on Ubuntu Linux from 1.0.20 to 1.0.21.
The new version resolved the issues were were having. Formatting looks good. All of our switches show up (firmware at 1.5.22, 15.24, or 1.5.25). We can use the Web UI and Console buttons again.
Thanks for getting this fixed.
I guess I spoke to soon about it being good. Today I have just a partial list of switches - 2 complete lines and the 3rd line just has the address and name columns. Looks basically the same as the screenshot posted by Viv
On the Ubuntu server doing a "service netonix-manager restart" seems to temporarily fix the issue. After restarting the service if I load the webpage and login the list is complete. If I leave the page up it seems to remain a complete list. However, if I press the web browser refresh button or F5 or Ctrl-F5 when the page refreshes it is an incomplete list again. Sometimes showing just 2 complete rows and a partial 3rd. Sometimes showing a few more full rows. Once it has messed up logging out and logging in does not help. Only restarting the service on the server will clear it. Loading the page on a different computer once it is messed up gives the same issues.
If you logout/login several times you will eventually get the messed up display as well.
Re: v1.5.25 Bug Reports and Comments
Noticed another thing with manager 1.0.21
Switches that are firmware 1.5.25 always show 0 bps in the first number in the Bandwidth column.
I cannot validate any of the values shown in the bandwidth column (I don't know if that is an average over some time, a snapshot at the last refresh, ??) but I've only seen zero in the first number for switches at 1.5.25. The 3 switches at .25 in the screenshot have 1 or more cameras on them and always have traffic.

Yea I noticed the bandwidth column was wrong too and totally forgot to mention to Stephen.
We are testing a new version right now again didn't check that column.
I'll ping Stephen on this.
That column should report TOTAL bandwidth. Not sure when that changed.

Re: v1.5.25 Bug Reports and Comments
Just for a general comment for everyone, the issue that is being reported by the crash reports result's in various other problems that have been showing up, these include:
- bandwidth value's not updating properly (on later firmware)
- "Last seen" not correct
- intermittent crash's
- resurgence of format error's on refresh.
An update is currently under test, and will be released promptly once we're reasonably sure it has shown improvement from the last one.
